Boys' Varsity LAX Defeats Woodberry

The boys' varsity lacrosse team rebounded from a tough loss on Thursday, defeating rival Woodberry Forest in Orange, Va., by a final score of 9-8.

The #3 VISAA ranked Maroon and #7 ranked Tigers played a tight game in which neither team led by more than two goals. Victor Salcedo '22 was outstanding at the face-off, winning 70% of the draws on the day. Willem Albert '22 added four goals for the offense including the game winner on a heads-up play with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter. Jack Hines '21 added two goals and James Greene '21 had three points. The defense was excellent all day, as Lawson Laverty '21, Andrew Lehman '22, Zack Ough '22, Graham Riddle '22, and Alec Riddle '22 all played well in front of Thomas Gibert '21, who made seven nice saves on the day.
