Commencement Weekend

May 27-28, 2022

Commencement exercises for the Class of 2022 will take place on May 27-28, 2022. We look forward to celebrating our seniors with friends and family together on The Holy Hill this spring. Commencement will be live streamed and Episcopal will have professional photographers on both Friday and Saturday, with downloadable albums posted soon after the weekend.

  • Friday, May 27

    4:30 p.m.  Baccalaureate Service in Callaway Chapel
    • Required for 11th and 12th graders; Vespers attire
    • Family members and guests of seniors are welcome to attend.
    5:30 p.m.  Buffet Dinner in Laird Dining Hall
    • Given the limited time between Baccalaureate and the Awards Ceremony, everyone is asked to enjoy a special celebratory dinner here on campus in Laird Dining Hall with other members of the senior class and their families.
    7:30 p.m.  Awards Ceremony in Hershey Athletics Center
    • Required for all students; Vespers attire
    • Family members and guests of seniors are welcome to attend.
    Parking: Guests should arrive via the gate located at 1200 N Quaker Lane.  The gate will be open at 3:00pm and our parking attendants will be ready to direct guests to parking along the front drive. Shuttles to Callaway Chapel will be available for those with mobility issues.  Flag down any parking/shuttle attendant.

    Special Note: Any families that may have an oversized vehicle exceeding the size of a large SUV (Suburban/Yukon) or any vehicle towing a trailer to assist with Senior move out should plan to arrive via the gate located at 3900 W Braddock Road and park in the Gravel Lot.  Parking attendants will be available for assistance in the Gravel Lot.



  • Saturday, May 28

    9:00 a.m. Commencement on Hoxton Circle
    • Required for all students
    • Family members and guests of seniors are welcome to attend.
    • Vespers attire; historically senior girls wear white dresses and senior boys wear coat and tie.
    11:30 a.m. Luncheon for everyone

    Parking: Guests should arrive via the gate located at 1200 N Quaker Lane.  The gate will be open at 6:00am and our parking attendants will be ready to direct guests to parking along the front drive.  Shuttles to Hoxton Circle will be available for those with mobility issues.  Flag down any parking/shuttle attendant.  It is recommended to arrive on site no later than 8:00am to alleviate parking lines and to ensure you are parked and seated before the Commencement ceremony begins promptly at 9:00am.

    Limited Accessible parking can be found in front of Penick Hall and Evans Dormitory.

Senior Dorm Move-out: Seniors are encouraged to pack their rooms the week before Commencement as move out will occur following Commencement. Seniors can begin the move out process on Friday. All seniors are expected to depart campus by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28; details on the move-out procedures will be shared with students. Any questions or concerns should be directed to Dean of Students Ashley Taylor, amt@episcopalhighschool.org. The community weekend will continue for our 9th, 10th and 11th graders after the seniors depart as we shift gears to prepare for final assessments.

In the event of severe weather: Commencement will be held outside if at all possible, so please bring attire to protect against light rain. In the case of severe weather, we will move events to New Centennial Gym in the Hershey Athletics Center; senior students and their families will be notified and a notice will be posted on the Commencement webpage.

  • Do I need a ticket to attend graduation?

    No, EHS does not require tickets for the 2022 Commencement ceremony. We are happy for all extended family members and friends to join us here on The Holy Hill as we celebrate our Class of 2022. All are also invited to join us on campus for dinner Friday night and for the Senior Luncheon on Saturday after Commencement.
  • Where can I park?

  • What are the available accommodations?

    There are several local hotels who have agreed to partner with EHS to provide you with a great stay while in Alexandria celebrating the class of 2022. Please make reservations prior to each hotel's cutoff date.  After the cutoff date or when a room block is sold out, reservations will be made at the prevailing daily rate based upon availability.

  • What is the Commencement ceremony attire for graduates?

    Graduates are expected to be in Vespers attire. Girls historically have worn white dresses and boys have worn coat and tie. There is no cap and gown for EHS graduates.
