Courage was launched on July 1, 2018, as a bold, seven-year, $150 million campaign.
Seven years later, Courage closed above and beyond.

1. Harnessing the resources and global connections of Washington, D.C.

THE MCCAIN-RAVENEL CENTER FOR INTELLECTUAL & MORAL COURAGE  WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2018 TO FULFILL THIS GOAL.

• 5 dedicated McCain-Ravenel Center Days each year 
• 100% of faculty take students on academic expeditions into the D.C. area 
• 650+ Washington experiences offered each year

2. Dramatically increasing access to financial aid. 

• $29.9 million in gifts and commitments earmarked for financial aid endowment
• 16 new named scholarship funds 
• 140 students receiving financial aid in 2025-26

3. Maximizing the power  of relationships and commitment to community.

• 2 new dorms with no increased enrollment, de-densifying all residential spaces
• 72 students and 6 faculty living on new dorms
• 91% of faculty living on campus

"The heartbeat of boarding school happens in the dorms, and our new residential spaces are so exciting. With three faculty members and 36 students on each dorm, the ratio is a dream.  Those small numbers naturally build community. 4. Inspiring achievement through rigor and wellness.

• 17,000 square foot new state-of-the-art health and wellness center
• Physical and mental health resources brought under one roof, including dedicated spaces for counseling services and wellness programs
• Enhanced athletic facilities, including a new new golf center and high-performance track and field

5. Investing in our commitment to a world-class faculty and staff.

• 12 new on-campus residences for faculty 
• $7.5 million in gifts and commitments earmarked for endowment to support faculty and staff
• 3 faculty positions newly named
