Our Vision for Your Education

Our 150+ course curriculum provides an outstanding liberal arts and sciences preparation. In small classes, we gather to conquer questions and dissect potential solutions. We engage in close conversations where anyone's idea can be voiced and everyone’s voice will be heard. We explore a wide curriculum that evolves and adapts as the world shifts. Together, we pursue knowledge and develop the skills we need to make the best use of it. Along the way, we make each other better.

Our Academic Philosophy

The academic day is structured to allow ample time for electives and study periods. Students must earn at least 23 credits in four years to graduate, including credits for afternoon programs. EHS also offers more than 70 Honors and Advanced courses.

The David H. March Library

The March Library collection consists of approximately 25,000 items
and 75 periodicals, supplemented by online databases that can be
accessed by students both on and off campus.

Access to information and the skills to evaluate it are key to success in academic research.

These skills will serve students beyond the classroom and into today’s information-driven society. The David H. March Library’s professional staff, with the assistance of the School’s extensive collection, seek to guide students in acquiring such skills.

The mission of the March Library is to serve as the vital and dynamic intellectual center of academic life at Episcopal High School, and to inspire in the community a lifelong love of reading and learning. As educators, the library staff teaches effective information-gathering and evaluating skills necessary for college and beyond. To prepare our students to be digitally-literate 21st-century learners, the Library promotes ethical digital citizenship and responsible use of intellectual property. The library staff assists students and teachers alike in navigating the constantly changing world of technology and information trends. The collections of the Library support both the EHS curriculum and the recreational lives of the EHS community.

The Library also holds over 3,000 videos and appropriate viewing facilities. The library circulates digital still and video cameras, and other equipment. Our online databases hold thousands of abstracts and full-text articles from journals, magazines, newspapers, and reference books.

The Library Corporation provides our interactive online catalog, available through the School network. Resources include:

  • JSTOR
  • Encyclopedia Britannica
  • Oxford English Dictionary
  • ARTStor, ABC-Clio
  • ProQuest Historical Newspapers
  • SIRS
  • Questia
  • Annals of American History
  • Gale’s Literature Criticism Online
Technology at EHS

Episcopal’s technology vision is to nurture responsible citizenry,
cultivate lifelong learning, and uphold the Episcopal
community’s educational philosophy.

Each student brings their own device to campus, with device specifications shared with all newly admitted families.

Our Technology Department provides ongoing support for all laptops experiencing issues that include connectivity to the School’s network and printers, access to Episcopal’s required software applications, and protection against viruses and malware.

Our network rivals that of large universities. All academic, administrative, and residential buildings have access to wireless high-speed internet connections; however, this freedom isn’t unlimited. Strongly enforced internet safety and security policies ensure that all campus research and communication is part of an educationally enriching experience.
