ATHLETICS AT EPISCOPAL
Teamwork. Discipline. Tenacity.
They will be part of you forever.
Episcopal High School is dedicated to the student’s pursuit of excellence and to the joy of learning and self-discovery in a supportive community.
Episcopal believes that physical exercise and conditioning are crucial to the health of every teenage boy and girl and that beginning the habits and routines of exercise at a young age is important to lifelong health. Physical activity is a key component of the Episcopal curriculum.

TEAMSIn addition to exercise for the sake of health, EHS is committed to the values taught by athletic competition. Sportsmanship, self-discipline, and perseverance are often learned through interscholastic sports. Most importantly, Episcopal’s athletic teams provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to learn the value of teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect. |

WHERE Strength Meets Sportsmanship

Sports Medicine
At EHS, students receive access to state-of-the-art sports medicine typically reserved for college and professional athletes. The 2,050-square-foot athletic training room offers services such as hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, electronic stimulation, and more. Two full-time certified athletic trainers are available for all home events and practices, working closely with the athletic department and health services.

Strength and Conditioning
Episcopal's strength and conditioning program is designed to enhance athletic performance with personalized training tailored to each athlete's sport and goals. Whether preparing for high school competition or college athletics, the program focuses on injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, and conditioning. With expert guidance from a dedicated coach, athletes receive weekly, team-specific lifting sessions to maximize power and flexibility throughout the season.

The Importance of Sportsmanship
Episcopal High School is proud of the behavior and sportsmanship displayed by its players, coaches, and supporters. We value healthy rivalry, encourage spirited and fair play, and appreciate positive support offered by spectators. Episcopal players, coaches, and fans represent themselves, their teams, and their School with pride and poise. We treat visiting teams and officials as guests, extending to them every courtesy. We are modest in victory and gracious in defeat.

A Legacy of Achievement
Since 1979 EHS boys’ teams have been named IAC Champions 48 times, and since 1993, Episcopal’s girls’ teams have won 41 ISL Championships. In addition, Episcopal teams have been recognized as Virginia Independent School State Champions 11 times since 1996.
