Top-Ranked Georgetown Prep Wears Down EHS

By Coach Scott Conklin

The boys' varsity lacrosse team opened its season on Thursday, April 22, with a tough loss to Georgetown Prep, which is ranked No. 6 nationally ranked and No. 1 in the Washington area.

The team started off strong in the first quarter as Jack Hines '21, Andrew Caslow '21, and Nate Kabiri '23 scored goals. Bear White '21 also chipped in two assists in the opening quarter. The defense, led by Lawson Laverty '21, Zack Ough '22, Andrew Lehman '22, and Alec '22 and Graham Riddle '22 played well throughout the game.

Georgetown Prep's depth eventually wore down the Maroon in the second and fourth quarters as the Hoyas pulled away for a 13-6 final. Victor Salcedo '22 won eight faceoffs and added four ground balls, and James Greene '21 added three ground balls and played very well on both offense and defense the entire game. The boys showed tremendous heart and should be proud of their effort.
