Boys Climb to Defeat Woodberry in First Meet

The boys had high hopes of starting strong against rival Woodberry Forest in our first of three head-to-head competitions this season. Sam Lipschutz '22 had an outstanding day. He won the meet outright, topping the leaderboard and beating the top Tiger by 10 points. Lipschutz scored V6, V7, and V7+ for a whopping 52 points. Hot on his heels was his brother, Josh Lipschutz '23, who in his first meet came in third overall and posted an outstanding 39 on V5, V5, V6. Yoyo Wang '22 and Bobby Zahorsky '22 tied for fourth place overall and third for EHS with 30 points each (V4, V4, V5). Amir Ludena '22 finished out the varsity 5 scores with 21 on V2+, V3, V3+, which is a full varsity scoresheet with each competitor over 20 points — and all are 9th and 10th graders. The future is bright for the boys' team, who managed to top Woodberry Forest 172-146.

The JV boys weren't too far behind.
