Dr. Katie Humphries, DO

Biography:
Dr. Humphries is a family medicine physician specializing in the care of adolescents. She practiced full-spectrum family medicine in group practice, urgent care and underserved care settings in Atlanta before arriving at EHS in November of 2021. At EHS, she provides comprehensive medical care to the students, which involves assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions as well as education and empowerment of students to take a proactive and preventative approach to their health. 

After earning her anthropology degree from Princeton University, where she played varsity lacrosse and field hockey, she completed a post-baccalaureate program in pre-medical studies through the University of Maryland. She earned her medical degree from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech and completed her residency in family medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where she served as Chief Resident. Throughout her postgraduate education, she was a substitute teacher, coach and tutor at her alma mater, Bryn Mawr School, as well as a collegiate-rated lacrosse official and volunteer lacrosse coach at Virginia Tech.

 At EHS, Dr. Humphries also assists with teaching health classes, collaborates with the counseling and wellness teams, coaches field hockey and lacrosse and serves as a student advisor. Katie lives on campus with her husband, Josh, their children, Lucy, George and Phoebe, and their dog, Lucky.
