With Courage We Will...Invest in our commitment to a world class faculty and staff.

We will build the resources to attract and retain gifted and diverse faculty and staff dedicated to the School’s mission and eager to take full advantage of Episcopal’s unmatched professional environment and opportunities.

Competing for Top Talent

At Episcopal, teachers are masters of their subjects for whom education is a calling. Living on campus and serving as advisors, coaches, club sponsors, and dorm parents, they discover and seize teachable moments and nurture mentoring relationships that are unique to this extraordinary learning community.

Funding to this priority supports:

List of 3 items.

  • Competitive Compensation

    • Ensure faculty and staff salaries, retirement, and health benefits are in line with other top boarding schools.
    • Reduce the pressure on tuition to fund faculty compensation.
  • Professional Development

    • Develop and implement multiyear strategies for faculty and staff to grow as educators in areas such as experiential learning, innovative technologies, and cross-cultural understanding and respect.
    • Deepen the faculty’s ability to create unique and engaging learning experiences, especially in the expanded classroom of Washington, D.C.
  • Capital Projects

In Episcopal’s 100% boarding environment, staff and students live and learn and grow together. On-campus housing for faculty ensures that our talented teachers are available wherever and whenever learning opportunities present themselves and is critical to our success. As part of the Courage Campaign, the School has added 12 faculty residences to campus:
    • Six new single-family homes as well as two sites prepared for the construction of two additional homes in the future.
    • Six residences on the two new dorms, four of which are three-bedroom, two-story townhouses that can comfortably accommodate growing families.
