2008 Boys' Soccer Team

The 2008 EHS boys’ soccer team began the School’s three-year, 63 game undefeated streak by going 23-0 and winning Episcopal’s first VISAA State Championship. The team was led by captains Will Addis ’09, Greg DiNardo ’09, and Abel “Shadow” Sebele ’09. They rallied together to win the IAC Championship, the first in 27 years, and the State Championship while outscoring their opponents 79-15.

“The 2008 EHS soccer team was made up of individuals from nearly every corner of the world; representing four continents, seven different countries, and eight US states,” Addis said. “The way that we came together as a cohesive group to achieve the success that we did is truly remarkable. Our winning record is a testament to the heart, devotion, and selfless contributions made by each and every player.”

Eight players received post-season honors and Episcopal was ranked #13 in the final poll of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). A remarkable 12 of the 22 players continued their sports careers at the collegiate level –– eight of whom played soccer.
