Thirteen student athletes from the Maroon Track & Field team qualified for the prestigious 85th running of the Eastern States Championships at the New Balance Track & Field Center, Armory Track in New York City. After a grueling State Championships on Saturday, those who qualified traveled to New York City to compete against some of the best competition on the East Coast.
EHS Track & Field lined up on Saturday February 9th for the annual Hoxton Invitational in Flippin Fieldhouse’s Cathcart Track. Twelve teams from the DC Metro area battled for the team competition and also testing out their final speed and strength heading into the State Championships. To top it off, the Maroon broke several School records.
A small contingent of student-athletes traveled as well to the St. Christopher’s Invitational in Richmond on Friday & Saturday, using their mid-winter break to match up against some of the top competition in the state.
The boys and girls track & field team had a quick turn around from their last meet in order to get in one more competition before the Mid-Winter Break. The Maroon & Black welcomed 12 teams into Flippin Fieldhouse on Thursday January 24 for the EHS Winter Invite and had some encouraging performances. A small contingent of student-athletes also ventured down to Richmond, VA as well to compete in the St Christopher’s Invitational.
A select group of Track & Field athletes traveled to Lynchburg, Va., to one of the premier indoor track and field venues on the East Coast, to compete in the Liberty University Christmas Invite against some of the top competition in the State.
