The Maroon Track & Field squad took a small contingent of student-athletes to compete at the VISAA Track & Field State Championship meet, held at Sportsbackers Stadium in Richmond, VA on Saturday May 18. With an 85 degree day to manage and some of the top competition of the season, The boys and girls in Maroon boarded the bus at the end of the day with three individual state champions, eleven All-State performances and three new School records.
The boys and girls track and field squads competed in their respective league “B” Championships last week, with plenty of young talent showcasing their talents and hard work this season.
The Penn Relays is the oldest and largest track & field competition in the country and is host to the largest number of participants in a track & field competition in the world.
A full contingent from the Episcopal Track & Field team ventured across the street to St. Stephen's & St. Agnes to compete in the Saints Showcase with some strong results as we head into Easter long weekend.
The outdoor track & field team competed in the PR Northern Virginia Invitational on Saturday. It is one of the largest public school invitationals in the area, with over 35 public schools competing in their third or fourth meet of the season. This happened to be the Maroon's first meet of the season as a full team.
The Maroon track & field squad are off to a solid start this season, doing the work and putting in some solid performances as they build towards the end of the season for the championship meets.
