Family Movie Night Raises Over $1,000

Service Council offers a fun on-the-field movie night in Hummel Bowl to raise money for hurricane relief.
In the wake of several destructive storms this fall that have ravaged the Caribbean, Texas, and Florida, Episcopal's Service Council hosted more than 100 local elementary and middle school-aged children and their parents for a screening of the Disney movie "Moana" in Hummel Bowl on September 29. According to Assistant Chaplain Timothy Seamans, just over $1,000 was raised to support aide efforts by Episcopal Relief and Development.

The EHS Service Council played an indispensable role in setting up for the event, welcoming guests, and managing the registration station and concessions stand. "Perhaps most importantly," Rev. Seamans noted, "Service Council members provided a spirit of enthusiasm and reminded everyone what inspired the event in the first place: helping meet the needs of our neighbors."
