On Wednesday, February 8, the EHS community celebrated a unique Episcopal tradition: the seventh annual Winter Carnival. This year's theme was outer space.

"Winter Carnival is special evening during the long winter months when students can break the winter routine and celebrate our community with themed, care-free fun!" explained Katie Ryan Kantz, Director of Student Activities.

The festivities began with an intergalactic-inspired meal in the dining hall. After dinner, the community gathered in Old Centennial Gym to watch the annual Faculty versus Seniors basketball game. The competition was fierce, and the faculty ultimately won the game by just one point!

After the game, the festivities continued in Stewart Student Center, which had been beautifully decorated and turned into a sea of stars by the student leaders on the Activities Committee. The entertainment included a photo booth, a "star gazing" room, and the weather was even mild enough to offer games on the patio outside under twinkle lights. The entire first floor was transformed into an extended dance floor, where students were entertained by Jump Street, a band that has been playing at EHS student events for many years. Swing Dance is the traditional dance for this event, and many students had already taken advantage of swing dance lessons offered by the school the weekend before to practice their moves.
