Maroon Girls Outshine GDS

In the home matchup against ISL AA opponent GDS, the Maroon staved off a third quarter comeback from the visitors to capture a 49-36 win. Lexi Weger '18 and Kailyn Shepherd '19 poured in 17 and 15 points, respectively. Brooks Buyck '17 managed seven points while dishing out five assists in the contest while Dymin Gerow '20  entered off the bench and pulled down a game-high six rebounds to go along with her six points.

The two teams traded baskets in the opening minutes, but Episcopal pulled away after a three-pointer from Buyck followed by a steal and coast-to-coast layup from Liza-Banks Campagna '17. Not to be outdone, the Hoppers outscored the home team 11-13 in the second stanza. The Maroon struggled to contain the quick guards from GDS in the third quarter, but the team managed 16 points in the final- and highest scoring- quarter while holding the Hoppers to just eight. Although it won't show up on any stat sheet, Gerow must be credited for her savage defense tenacity in the second half...without it, the game could have had a very different outcome!
