Girls Varsity Squash Continues Winning Streak With Mercersburg Defeat

Heading into the match, the ratings favored the Maroon, as did the in-court experience. That being said, approach your opponents with cautious confidence, and take nothing for granted (and leave nothing to chance).

The team had those marching orders, and took them into the match. Playing on three courts, EHS quickly found its groove and identified their opponents' soft spots. Madalein Amoako '22, Neely Holt '20, and Caroline Bradford '21 dispatched their counterparts to give Episcopal a quick 3-0 team lead. Soon thereafter, captains Pierson Gammage '20 and Cooper Redd '20 defeated their girls in rapid succession, thus clinching the overall team match win. Rounding out the wins was a strong 3-1 victory by Elyse Farrell '20. The victory against Mercersburg is the fourth in the streak, and Episcopal has placed itself solidly at the #2 spot in the league as they turn the corner and see opponents a second time.
