Track & Field competes in Bulldog Invitational

The Bullis Bulldog meet has quickly become one of the largest and most competitive meets in the area, with many top times in the country and the region put in by schools from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Philadelphia, and Virginia.
Episcopal had a few top individual performances. Jamall Mensah ‘20 started things off with a strong performance in the 100-meters, solidifying his place as one of the Top-10 speedsters in the Virginia Private School rankings. Jahsaiah Moses ‘19 ran the 400-meter hurdles event for the first time in her career and is ready for another breakthrough race over the 300-meter distance. Tre Simmons ‘20 matched his time from last year at this event, running a solid time over 1600-meters as he builds towards another strong finish to the track & field season.
 
Claire Boehm ‘20 had the highest overall finish with a Bronze medal in the 1600-meter event after running a solid pace in a spread out field. Boehm also came back and ran a personal best relay split on the State No. 2-ranked 4x400m relay.

Zeddy Williams ‘21 had a strong race for the Maroon, chipping off more time from his Personal Best time in the 800-meters. Alli Boehm ‘20 also had a solid day running another fast time in the 800-meters with a hard charging finish, taking 5th place in the two-lap race.

The girls' team ran close to a new school record in the 4x200m event, racing to 7th place with personal records from Regan Simmons ‘21 and Caroline Panton ‘21 who combined with Moses and Nina Moore ‘20. The girls' team also came back in the 4x400 event and put up a #2 ranked time in the 4 x 400m race with Alli Boehm, Moses, Simmons and Claire Boehm combining to take 6th place. The boys' 4x400m squad sat through most of the afternoon eagerly awaiting the chance to compete. Finally, at 8 p.m. under the lights, they had a chance to perform. Alex de Casteja ‘20 battled a hotly contested first leg with a gutsy performance to keep the Maroon in the running for the podium. Aaron Lindsey ‘21 ran a strong lap and fellow sophomore Dante Jackson ‘21 put in the strongest lap to pull the team into 3rd place overall. Williams anchored the team with a personal best time over 400 meters, crossing the line with one of the school’s top five times overall.
