Georgetown Visi Breaks Maroon's Winning Streak

The ISL AA championship game featured two squads hungry for a title: the Episcopal Maroon and the top-seeded Georgetown Visitation Cubs (also ranked #7 in the Washington Post). Episcopal would need to play a tough, balanced game to upend this formidable foe, but they were certainly up to the occasion.
Unfortunately for the Maroon, the fatigue of playing three intense games in four days was evident from the opening tip. The Cubs jumped out to an early lead off of hot perimeter shooting and converting offensive rebounds while EHS struggled to find the bottom of the net. Despite falling behind, though, the team did a fantastic job of shutting down Visitation's best player. Haley Sabol '20 and Lucy Dixon '21 allowed the senior Princeton commit to score just five points when she had been averaging 28 in the tournament. Other standout performances were Maya Thompson '20, who went 100% from the charity stripe, and Hannah Boone '22 whose perimeter shooting ignited the bench in excitement.

The team ultimately lost the game 56-32, but the staff was beyond proud of the heart and toughness that each player on the floor and bench demonstrated in the loss. They worked together, cheered loudly, and fought ferociously until the very end while remaining classy and gracious in defeat.
