St. Catherine's Marches In, Sweeps Maroon

The girls varsity squash team played valiantly with an unforeseen purpose and determination. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, they were vanquished 0-9.
Lilly Whitner '19  forced her opponent to four games, while also playing the single best game of her season, the second game of the match, an 11-5 victory. The execution of her wickedly evil and effective drop shots was astounding. Unfortunately, her opponent caught on a little too soon for Lilly to fully capitalize. Lindsey Harrison '19 also played a match that required stamina and endurance. Her score does not reflect the length of the points which extended to very long and exciting, albeit, exhausting, rallies. Lilly Schmachtenberger '19 played an incredible match against arguably one of the hardest hitters in the league. While Schmactenberger was up by two games, she ultimately succumbed, 8-11 in the fifth. Katherine Schwartz '19 played a nail-biting, five-game match, scoring a 12-10 win in the last game after which the usually stoic Schwartz admitted, "I was a little nervous! But I really wanted to win!"
