Georgetown Prep Tangoes with Maroon in Back-and-forth Scoring
The boys varsity basketball team traveled to Maryland to face the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas.
In the first match-up between these two teams, Episcopal controlled the game for the first three quarters, and Georgetown Prep used an explosive fourth quarter to come back and win the game. In the second match-up of the year, Georgetown Prep controlled the game from the opening whistle, to the final buzzer. The Little Hoyas played nearly flawless basketball in the first quarter, and EHS was down 10-0 after just two minutes of play. A timeout calmed the Maroon a bit, and the team played better basketball for a few minutes, but we could not stop Georgetown Prep on our defensive side of the court. Episcopal trailed 20-8 after one quarter of play. The Little Hoyas continued to play well in the second and third quarters, and at one point the Maroon trailed by 25 points. EHS continued to give great effort on the court, but shots just weren't falling. Twice in the second half Episcopal cut in to the lead, but each time Georgetown Prep had the answer. As the final buzzer sounded, Episcopal fell to Georgetown Prep by a score of 82-61.
