Maroon Falls to St. Albans
The boys put forth their strongest opening quarter this season, and led the game for most of the quarter. St. Albans was able to claw their way back into the lead at the end of the quarter, winning by a score of 10-9. Jason Gibson ‘21 scored four points, Stern Cohen '21 hit a jumper for two, and Thomas Gibert '21 nailed a three.
The second quarter was a different story. Maroon struggled with turnovers and failed to generate a significant offensive threat. Albans stepped up their game. The Bulldogs were fierce, scoring 11, and winning the first half by a score of 21-12. The second quarter saw contributions from Gibert for one point from the free throw line, and two points at the close of the half from a great driving layup by Jackson Bauer '21.
Maroon showed up and rallied in the third quarter with excellent defense and creative offense. Jason Gibson '21 played excellent defense and contributed with a layup for two points. Andrew Caslow '21 joined in on the fun with a bucket, and Gibert hit an outstanding jumper at the end of the quarter for two points. Episcopal won the third quarter by a score of 6-4.
Gibson put forth a great effort in the final quarter with eight points. Caslow scored four, and Bauer hit a late game three to keep the game close--but the Bulldogs pulled it out in the end. The final score was 43-33.
