Maroon Teams, Individuals Place First in Meet

The morning after the Woodberry competition, a new contingent of student-athletes went to head to Georgetown Prep for one of their high school competitions that attracted many top programs from the area.
Episcopal put together some of its top relays of the season and they did not disappoint. In the only individual event of the day, freshman Zeddy Williams '21 waited his turn to take the lead after the third of eight laps and ran away from the field to run a personal best time (4:43.68) and finish first place.

In the B Finals of the 4 x 200-meter, both the girls and boys teams took first place overall. Nina Moore '20, Jahsaiah Moses '19, Regan Simmons '21 and Bijee Jackson ’18 combined to win their race convincingly coming home with the gold medal on the day. Vincent Notzon '18, John Pupel '18, Alex de Casteja '20 and Juanell Walker '19 won a very close battle in their respective race to take another gold medal for the Maroon.

In a new event for the Maroon, the 55-meter Dash, 55-meter hurdle shuttle relay, Episcopal also put in a top performance. 
Brianna Williams '18 and Bijee Jackson '18 took care of the hurdles legs and Moses and Moore ran the 55-meter dash legs to finish 3rd overall. Litchfield Ajavon '19 and Pupel over the hurdles, and Elijah Gaines '20 and Jamall Mensah '20 in the 55-meter dash took second overall in the boys version. The Maroon ended the day with a strong showing in the boys 4 x 400-meter relay, led by a superb leg from Barry Curtis '19 who laid down a 53-second split on the day.
