O'Connell jumped out to an 11-0 lead less than two minutes in to the game, and the Maroon had to call an early timeout.
The Knights have a very good team this year, and this was evident early in the game. EHS played the Knights well for the remainder of the period, and after eight minutes of play the score Was O'Connell 21, Episcopal 10. O'Connell once again started strong in the second quarter, and the deficit quickly mounted for the Maroon. EHS was having trouble on both ends of the floor, and The Knights were playing at a high-level, and an extremely fast pace. Episcopal was down at the break 44-17. The scoring improved for the Maroon in the third quarter, but the defense continued to struggle. EHS was able to score 22 points in the period, but they gave up 32; this led to the largest deficit Episcopal faced all season, and the only answer was to continue to work hard and try and turn things around. Episcopal did just this in the final quarter of play. EHS was able to score 22 points again in the fourth quarter, but this time they held the Knights to a game-low ten points in the period. This was a very important quarter of basketball for the Maroon, as we can use this as a place to build from for this week's competitions. EHS fell to O'Connell by a score of 86-61
Episcopal is now 12-5 on the season, and 2-2 in the IAC.
