Boys Junior Basketball Falls to SSSAS

Episcopal was back at it for the first time in three weeks, after a long holiday hiatus, against St. Stephens in their league home opener.
The boys fought hard, but faltered in the first quarter. The score was 19-5 St. Stephens. Stern Cohen '21 scored a nice three-pointer off the glass, and Kartik Singh '21 looked strong with an early layup off of an offensive rebound. Maroon dominated the second quarter, and at times, had the the Saints on their heels. Cohen, Jason Gibson '21, and Jack Hines '21 showed energy and helped put points on the board in the second quarter. The boys closed the gap to 26-16 St. Stephens at the half.

The third quarter was roughly even. Hines and Singh provided most of the offensive firepower in the third while Gibson provided strong defensive play. EHS was down 35-23 going into the final quarter. The team struggled in the fourth quarter, and were unfortunately unable to close the gap. The team at times struggles with boxing out, rebounding, and converting routine plays into points on the board.
