Varsity Field Hockey Struggles to Overcome Stone Ridge
The Maroon traveled to take on Stone Ridge on Tuesday afternoon. EHS was looking to set the pace of the game and play together as a unit.
The first half featured evenly-matched play, with both teams creating scoring opportunities that ultimately fell short. The Maroon had their best chance on a penalty corner but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Coming out of halftime, Episcopal faced a persistent Gators offense who got on the board after a few minutes. The play evened back out, with the Maroon fighting to find their rhythm and even the score. With about seven minutes remaining, the Gators added to their lead and EHS was unable to answer to close the gap. Halsey Ziglar '19 finished the day with seven saves.
