Flint Hill Beats Girls Varsity Soccer With Penalty Kick

The girls' varsity soccer team traveled to Flint Hill on Friday and lost 1-0 on a penalty shot at the 13-minute mark of the first half, called when a Flint Hill player was taken down just inside the penalty area.

While the team did not get many shots off over the 80 minutes, it was, in many ways, the most complete effort of the year. The Maroon moved the ball well on offense and, on defense, made it difficult for Flint Hill to put together a string of passes and quality shots-–the exception being at the start of the game when the Huskies were able to dominate the “50-50” balls at midfield and maintain possession in the Episcopal end of the field.

The Maroon now have a week off before facing St. Stephens and St. Agnes on the road as part of the Seminary Hill Cup.
