Varisty Field Hockey Scores Second League Win
The Maroon faced off against league opponent Bullis at home.
EHS got out in front first when Eleanor Winants '18 scored off a penalty corner, with the assist going to Erin Phillips '18. The Maroon kept the pace up on offense with accurate passing and good ball movement. Caroline Ullrich' 20 added to the Episcopal lead with an assist from Jonesy Wilbanks '19. A few minutes before halftime, Phillips scored her first goal of the game, with the assist by Winants.
The Maroon were motivated to keep both their level of play and energy high heading into the second half. Winants led the way, scoring a goal twenty seconds into the half. Ullrich also scored her second goal of the day a few minutes later, which was assisted by Phillips. Mary Ives Giblin '19 tallied an unassisted goal and Phillips finished the scoring for the Maroon.
On a day where the offense was clicking for Episcopal, Halsey Ziglar '19 and Noelle Weaver '19 both stopped scoring chances from the visiting Bulldogs. They each finished the day with two saves. Bullis had ten penalty corners throughout the game but the defense was able to hold them off.
