NCS Squeezes Tight Win from Varsity Tennis
Cathedral had some solid, consistent singles players, and they all got off to leads. We were only able to get one win out of the four, which would be Lilly Whitner ’19 at #4, who exercised patience and executed a good game plan to secure a 10-4 victory. The doubles matches were all incredibly close. Sam Fanning ’19 and Eve Mazlich ’21 would take a win at #2 10-7, while the final two matches went the distance. Maddie Blalock ’19 and Olivia Armfield '20 made a great come back , but fell just short 11-9, while Nora Huffines ’20 and Catherine Clark ’21 lost in a 10-10 tiebreak! Another crazy ending for the Maroon girls tennis in a well fought contest.
