Despite Fight, Bulldogs Keep Maroon at Bay
The Maroon were handed their first loss of the season by visiting Norfolk Academy. The Bulldogs were held off early in the contest as the Episcopal defense held steady for the first 14 minutes of the game. After surrendering the first goal of the contest, The Maroon responded well and fought back. Norfolk Academy added to their lead with just under 10 minutes remaining and finished off the half with a goal with just over 30 seconds left in the half.
The second half started with back-to-back goals scored by the visitors. The Maroon responded with an increased pace of play and a tight defensive effort. They held off another score until there were 12 minutes remaining in the game and the Bulldogs tallied their final goal with just over 5 minutes remaining. Episcopal goalie Halsey Ziglar '19 ended the day with an incredible 28 saves on 37 shots.
The Maroon took the loss, 7-0, to the visiting Bulldogs. In a game in which the final score did not reflect the level of play, EHS had a high level of intensity from the start and were quick to make adjustments.
