Girls Varsity Lacrosse Bounces Back From Loss to Defeat Important Opponent

After their loss on Tuesday, the team quickly shifted gears to take on St. Catherine’s--an important state opponent. EHS had fallen by one goal last year to St. Catherine’s and early in the season had set a goal to redeem that close loss. Unfortunately, EHS had their slowest start of the season as they found themselves down 0-2 less than 30 seconds into the game. Episcopal would then go to work, however, as they would score at six goals over the opening 10 minutes of play to take a 6-3 lead. Episcopal would continue to push the pace, including scoring a goal with 3 seconds in the half, to take a 10-5 lead into the halftime break. In the second half, Episcopal was inconsistent in play as they would control the clock at times, but also had a horrific number of careless turnovers. Luckily, the defensive unit continued their strong play and was able to hold St. Catherine’s while getting the ball back to the offensive end of the field.
