Maroon Falls to Christ School in First Game of WFS Tournament
A back-and-forth game from the start, Christ School and EHS traded goals in transition and extra-man opportunities throughout with neither team building to more than a 3 goal lead. EHS took 12 penalties on the day and Christ School capitalized with smart and efficient offense. For long stretches of the game EHS showed patience and poise on offense of its own. Shooters Ricky Miezan '18 (3g, 1a) and Stuart Greenspon '17 (5g, 2a) worked to find scoring lanes in Christ School's zone. Freshman attackman Finlay McKnight '20 (1g, 2a) played beyond his years and quarterbacked the offense from behind the cage. While the Maroon generated several good looks at the goal, poor shooting kept the team from pulling away. Down two starting defensemen, EHS got quality minutes from Kaal Griffith '17 and Christian Storch '20. The hinge of the game came in the 4th quarter with the score tied 9-9. EHS failed to capitalize on a two-man advantage and gave Christ School the ball. Christ School scored shortly after and never relinquished the lead.
