NCS Defeats Varsity Softball
The girls varsity softball team finished the 2018 season with a loss against NCS in the first round of the ISL-AA tournament.
Tiffany Stowers ’20 was on the mound for the entire seven-inning game. She had 7 strike-outs, two walks, and allowed seven hits. Nicole Carino ’19 and Allison Duenas ’20 each recorded a hit for our offense, and as a team, we had half as many strike outs as last game. We were also able to get runners on base with walks, drop third strikes and errors by the NCS defense, but we were unable to score those runs. The Maroon's defense was solid for the first three innings, and we held NCS to only one run. In innings 4-6, NCS was able to string together hits and take advantage of Episcopal's only two errors in the game to end the game 0-8 in the 7th.
The girls finished with a 2-5 record in the division, and an overall record of 4-9.
