Girls Varsity Basketball Falls to Flint Hill

Playing at Flint Hill is never an easy task, but the team was excited at the chance to avenge a loss earlier this season.
The Huskies were eager to protect their court, however, and jumped out to an early 10-3 lead. Even after a timeout, the squad could not stop the hot shooting of the home team. Still, Episcopal persisted, ending the half with a Lexi Weger '18 three-point play and Kailyn Shepherd '19 layup. At the half, EHS trailed by 11.

Despite playing tough defense in the third quarter, Flint Hill came out and nailed back-to-back three-pointers, hurting the momentum of the Maroon. Shepherd answered back with an athletic mid-range jumper. Dymin Gerow '20 followed with a tough layup on the next possession, but the Huskies remained calm, taking advantage of Episcopal's slow defensive transition up the floor. Despite a valiant effort in the closing minutes of play, the team could not complete the comeback, and fell by a score of 65-46.
