Holy Child Defeats Maroon
The team traveled to Holy Child for an ISL contest against yet another commendable opponent.
Despite an energetic warm up, the team came out to a sluggish start. Conversely, Holy Child hit a series of unanswered shots from every spot on the floor, including an impressive 7/14 from the three-point line. Sophie Singletary '18 used her passion and toughness to lead on both ends of the floor, but the squad struggled to find cohesion. At the half, the Maroon trailed 29-16.
The team turned up the defensive heat tremendously in the third quarter, but EHS continued to struggle offensively. Midway through the final stanza, the team staged an exciting comeback, as the team outscored their opponent 18-13. Despite a Lexi Weger '18 three-pointer and a Ryan Shepherd '21 layup at the buzzer, the team couldn't complete the comeback and dropped the contest 52-38.
