Varsity Field Hockey Victory on Home Turf
The Maroon hosted league opponent Madeira on a beautiful Friday afternoon.
Episcopal was looking to set the pace of the game and get on the board first. Olivia Sokol ‘19 did just that and finished off a series of passes that started at midfield. A few minutes later, Eleanor Winants ‘18 added to the lead with an assist from Caroline Ullrich ‘20. Isabelle Davidson ‘18 scored her first goal of the season during an offensive penalty corner by the Maroon. Winants finished off the scoring for the Maroon right before halftime.
The Maroon aimed to keep up the pressure on Madeira going into the second half, and worked to pass the ball effectively. EHS played strong defense throughout the game, and the visiting Snails were able to get through in the final minutes of the game. Halsey Ziglar ‘19 ended the day with three saves.
The final score was 4-1.
