Trinity Episcopal Overtakes Maroon Varsity Field Hockey
The Maroon traveled to Trinity Episcopal School on Thursday where they put together their best game of the season against a strong opponent.
The game opened up with evenly-matched play in all facets of the game. The Maroon were energetic from the start and were able to move the ball with quick passing and good communication. The Titans scored two goals during the first half of the contest. The Maroon offense was able to create a penalty corner opportunity as time expired at the half, and Jane Hill '20 tipped in a shot from Janie Stillwell '18 to cut the deficit to one.
Both teams traded scoring chances coming out of halftime. EHS held off the Titans until they broke through at the midway point of the half. Trinity Episcopal scored another goal with about ten minutes left in the game, and the Maroon answered less than a minute later with Caroline Ullrich '20 scoring her first goal of her EHS career, with Stillwell getting the assist.
Trinity Episcopal finished the scoring with a few minutes left in the game but the Maroon fought hard throughout the entire contest. Halsey Ziglar '19 finished the day with 14 saves.
