EHS Boys Varsity Soccer traveled to Richmond on Wednesday to face the defending state champions, St. Christopher’s, in the driving rain. The boys were up for the challenge for the first 20 minutes of the match, when their quick one- and two-touch passing and movement off the ball caught STC by surprise. However, the home side withstood the onslaught and eventually their quality and depth carried the day. St. Christopher’s scored the first goal in the 27th minute and added three goals in the second half, for a convincing 4-0 win. Episcopal will take confidence from their competitiveness in the first half of the match, against a team that has been training together since August 15, a full two-week head start over the Maroon.
