Boys Varsity Lacrosse Beats Far-Away Opponent
EHS returned home and to its winning ways, hosting St. Ignatius (Chicago) on a drizzly Parent’s Weekend Saturday. The game was all EHS from the start. Anchored by standout goalie play from senior captain Hampton Brannon and sophomore Luke Mascatello girded by the tough man-to-man defense of Tench Coxe '17, Jack Joyce '17, Ryan Grajewski '18, Kaal Griffith '17, Bear Matheson '20, and Christian Storch '20, the Maroon held the opponent scoreless in the first half. Meanwhile, the offense worked together and tallied ten first half goals.
The game highlight was Garretson Carter’s '17 first career goal. Late in the game, Garretson rushed toward the goal and drew a penalty. On the ensuing man-up opportunity he expertly worked the corner for a well-placed lefty bounce shot and the 14th goal of the game.
