The Saints hosted EHS under blue skies on Friday but a storm was brewing. The SSSAS faceoff unit was too much to overcome, and the Saints were able to turn their extra-ball possessions into productive offense. EHS had difficulty finding the back of the net, going 1-15 on shots in the first half, with the lone first half EHS goal coming off of a nifty individual effort by Matt Berendsen '18. EHS trailed 9-1 at one point before beginning a slow and steady comeback. The Maroon started to figure out something at the faceoff and created some opportunities off of gritty riding. The third quarter ended SSSAS 10 and EHS 4. An unexpected lightning delay in the fourth quarter was just the spark the EHS offense needed. Out of the delay, the Maroon caught fire and put together four goals, led by Jared Andreala '20 (1,2), Stu Greenspon '17 (2,1) and Brendan Williams '17 (2,0), but the frenetic pace, tough defense, and staunch goalie play were too little too late.
