Varsity Football Continues Undefeated Streak
The Maroon varsity football team was able to stay undefeated after beating St. Albans 32-7.
The Maroon offense was balanced with Emmett Morehead ’21 completing 12 of 23 passes for 173 yards and two passing Touchdowns. Elijah Gaines ’20 caught four passes for 107 yards and one touchdown. Barry Curtis ’19 caught three passes for 31 yards and a touchdown. Juanell Walker ’19 had another solid night running the football. Walker rushed the ball 23 times for a total of 138 yards and two touchdowns. Bryce Steele ’21 added a tough touchdown run from seven yards out for the Maroon's first score. The offense finished the game with 350 yards of total offense (173 passing / 177 yards rushing).
The Maroon defense had another solid game. This is their fourth game in a row holding their opponent to negative rushing yards. Ben Lee ’20 led the defense with five total tackles while John Boyles ’20 had an impressive game at middle Linebacker with four tackles. Salim Turner-Mahammad ’19 had another stellar game in the secondary and came up with a crucial interception.
