JV Field Hockey Falls to Georgetown Vis
The girls JV field hockey team faced their opponents from the District.
Landon O'Malley '22 had an amazing first half in goal with five saves and four corners. Only one goal squeezed by with a very offensive Visitation team. In the second half, Annie Thomas '22 had another heavily charged defensive game with five saves, two goals, and four corners as well. Olivia Taiwo '22 personally saved two shots.
Forbes Dudley '21, a skilled player that can play anywhere needed, had incredible defensive tackles and channels to transition the ball up. Captain Gigi Friedman '21 had two hard shots on Visitation's goal, but not enough numbers were up to contain the ball in the offensive circle. Catherine Mackinnon '21 had an amazing shot near the end of the game and same with co-captain McClain Brooks '21 who had an open shot from the top of the circle. The Maroon created seven offensive corners and took from that game the importance of using the corner plays to generate a goal.
