Maroon Cross-Country Teams Finish Up Top in First Meet
On Friday, September 14, the boys and girls of Episcopal XC competed in their first home meet of the season.
After a tough week of practice in the weight room and on the hills, the team came into the meet sore and tired. The team raced well despite the fatigue and were able to score well against conference favorites St. Albans and National Cathedral School. The boys finished in 2nd place with 43 points. The girls finished in 3rd place with 74 points.
Highlights from the day came from newcomers Davis Warner '22 and Sam Lipschutz '22. Both scored in the varsity seven for the boys and helped the team secure 2nd place. In addition, Cindy Xin '20 ran a four-minute personal best in only her second cross country race. Amir Ludena '22, Collin Fitzpatrick '19, and Aaron Lindsey '21 completed their first ever cross country race, while Chris Denning '19 and Flynn Donnelly '21 set new personal bests.
