JV Field Hockey Falls to Potomac
The girls JV field hockey team played their first game of the season against Potomac.
Due to inclement weather during the opening week of practice, the team had been limited with their field play. Despite their lack of field training the team looked incredibly confident and collected on the field making smart and safe passes. Landon O'Malley '22 started first half in goal leaving the score 0-0 at the half and several very skilled clears. Annie Thomas '22 played an amazing second half with only a very hard shot getting by inside the circle with a few minutes on the clock. Excellent defensive plays throughout the entire game by Olivia Taiwo '22 who played most of the game as a sweep and was essential for keeping the score so low. McClain Brooks '21, Catherine Mackinnon '21, Gigi Friedman '21, Sophie Novitsky '21, and Lucy Hankins '20 all had an incredible mid-field play and eventually helped to transition onto the offensive goal generating some shots an offensive corners.
