Varsity Golf Debuts with Victory Over SSSAS
On Monday, April 2, we played cross-town rival Saint Stephens Saint Agnes and emerged from our post-Easter weekend match at Belle Haven CC with some respectable scores.
Christian Wright '18, Cole Wise '19, and Collier Lilly '21 led the team with scores of 41, with captain George Moore '18 and Anderson Glover '18 also contributing. The final score was EHS 210 to SSSA 240.
A note on match reporting: When playing non-IAC schools we play 6 golfers and count 4. For IAC matches we play 6 and count 5. In general, we aim for a score of 164 or better against VA schools and 205 or better against IAC competition. In both cases this represents a scoring average of 41 or better. For our first few matches we fell short of our goals, but still had some success.
