Maroon Tames Landon Bears
The boys' varsity basketball team hosted the Landon Bears.
The team had two terrific days of practice and preparation for this game, and that was evident during the contest. Episcopal played with great energy and effort in the first half, and although the Bears made some very difficult shots, the team was still able to build a lead that would hold throughout the game. EHS led Landon 36-24 at the break, but the team was focused during the halftime break, and they played their best basketball during the third quarter. The Maroon pushed their lead to twenty-five points, and the team held the Bears to only nine points in the third quarter. Episcopal's man-to-man defense was solid, and it forced their opponents in to tough shots and turnovers. Episcopal was able to play all fourteen players in uniform in the final period of the game, and each member of the team contributed on the court. As the final buzzer sounded, Episcopal defeated Landon by a final score of 75-59.
EHS is now 14-6, 4-3 in the IAC.
