Maroon Defeats Landon

The boys' varsity basketball team traveled to Bethesda, MD on Friday evening to face the Landon Bears.
The Maroon played terrific basketball in the first half, particularly on the defensive end of the floor, and the team built a 22-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. Foul trouble slowed the game down a bit in the second period, but EHS was able to extend the lead. At the half, Episcopal led Landon by a score of 37-16.

EHS opened the second half with great energy, and the team continued to play well. A balanced scoring attack in the third quarter and intense zone defense helped the Maroon build their largest lead of the game, 58-27. The Bears showed some resiliency in the final quarter of the game, and their hot-shooting from the three-point line helped them trim the Episcopal lead. EHS maintained their composure, and all 13 players who saw action in the fourth quarter were able to make some positive plays on the court. Episcopal defeated Landon by a final score of 76-52. This was an important road victory in the I.A.C. EHS had a record of 12-1, 2-0 in league play after this game.
