Final Race Before Conference Championships Shows Promise

The hilly course proved difficult and required each runner to challenge themselves mentally and physically.

The Freshman Boys race featured Yoyo Lu, Darius Johnson, Flynn Donnelly, Alex Stettinius, David Lee, and Jake Lee. All competed with grit and determination, with Yoyo Lu finishing first for the team in top 50 spots. The run of the race came from Stettinius who was the only freshman runner from Episcopal to set a personal best. He finished in 27:56 to improve by over 40 seconds.

The Seeded Varsity Boys race featured Tre Simmons '20, Zeddy Williams '21, Alex Brown '18, Ben Korkowski '19, Rohan Candadai '18, and Chris Denning '19. Simmons finished in the top 20 to earn a medal, while the rest of the team competed well to secure a 9th place finish.

The Seeded Varsity Girls race featured Paige Hathaway '18, Dawn Farquharson '18, Charlotte Breckenridge '20, Judy Liu '18, Regan Simmons '21, and Arabella Dixon '21. Hathaway ran an impressive 20:54 on the difficult course, to earn the 3rd place trophy.  Farquharson's 23rd place finish earned her a medal, and Simmons ran her first varsity race of the year to score as the fifth runner. The team took 4th overall because Dixon's finish as Episcopal's sixth runner broke the tie with Burke School!

The Unseeded Varsity Boys race featured Chineme Agulanna '20, Scout Zhou '20, Andrew Kraut '21, Brennan Sharp '20, and Christian Wright '18. Agulanna went out strong and finished with a personal best 21:34 to position himself into the top 10 on the Episcopal squad!

The Unseeded Varsity Girls race featured Debby Lee '21, Jahsaiah Moses '19, and Bijee Jackson '18. Each girl ran well, despite the late-day heat and sun beating down on the runners. Lee was the top finisher for Episcopal in a time of 28:34.

The all runners are now preparing for the ISL and IAC Conference Championships on Saturday, October 28th at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, MD. We hope you will come out and support all the runners in their conference championships!
