We faced our toughest opponent yet on Thursday. The first game started with a high level of play on both sides, with EHS passing and communicating well in the face of consistent swings from O'Connell hitters. Liv Hunt '21 led the team confidently through a temporary 5-1 rotation, and Maya Loehr '19 had several great hits from the outside. However, the strong O'Connell team came out firing on all cylinders, completing the "Pass, Set, Hit" trifecta on nearly every play. Combining big swings with tough serves, O'Connell won the first game 10-25.
In game two, Episcopal kept a closer hold on O'Connell, and we were excited to have Cindy Xin '20 in the back row for her season debut. Karla Domingues '20 had a great defensive game, reading the hits and tips and covering the court well. We also saw middle hitters Helen Ingle '21 and Ryan Shepherd '21 dishing out their own well-placed tips. Despite a great effort to play up to our fierce opponent, Episcopal fell 19-25 in the second game.
