Varsity Tennis Tops Madeira
The girls’ varsity tennis picked up their sixth win of the season this Friday at home on the Shuford courts against Madiera.
Playing without Gracie Hughes ’19 at the top singles spot, we needed to adjust the lineup, with everyone moving up in singles and readjusting the doubles teams. Lilly Schmachtenberger ’19 handled the #1 singles position admirably, being the first one off the courts with a convincing 10-1 win. Nora Huffines ’20 played her first singles match of the season at #4, and notched her first win 10-1) as well. Lily Dolan ’20 (#2) and Lilly Whitner ’19 (#3) completed the singles sweep with 10-1 wins as well. The team went on to take two out of the three doubles matches for a smashing victory.
