EHS was able to dominate play from the opening whistle, but found difficulty in scoring against a defensively well-organized visiting Holy Cross. The team took full advantage of their opponent's style of play and continued to find many opportunities throughout the first 40 minutes. Striker Kyara McDowell '19 was a consistent threat with her controlled attacks against the Holy Cross back four, which evolved in to a back six at times. The score remained tied at half time and EHS took to the field only to succumb to a short defensive lapse that was taken advantage of by a skilled visiting forward who beat two players to go 1v1 with the EHS netminder. Although the result may not have been what the home side wanted by the end of the match, GVS played 80 minutes of hard-fought and skilled soccer that was one of the better team efforts thus far. Of note was the poise and skill of midfielder Logan Tyler '19 and the grit and keen play of center back Lilly Wilcox '18 in this contest that closed a busy two days for the squad.
